“The only player that got a pass” – A lot of Gers fans were relatively happy with Steven Davis’ performance on a grim day for the Gers.
In the first Old Firm game of the season, Rangers were comfortably beaten by Celtic at Ibrox – with many of the Gers’ best players simply not turning up for the game.
Davis worked hard in midfield, but he could not do anything about Steven Gerrard’s odd tactics – which saw Rangers lineup without any recognised wingers.
This meant that all of the play was in the middle of the pitch and Celtic were happy to condense the game and play on the counter-attack.
Gerrard was not helped by several poor performances, but his gamble did not pay off.
Many Gers fan, though, were pleased with Davis.
