  • Thelo Aasgaard had an excellent impact against Dundee United
  • The Norwegian star must perform to earn a World Cup spot in the summer
  • He will play a big part in the upcoming Premiership split

Thelo Aasgaard could be the pivotal piece for Rangers in the upcoming Premiership split.

Rangers face Motherwell at home before tough away games against title challengers Hearts and Celtic.

They complete the season with a home game against Hibernian and an away contest versus Falkirk.

Aasgaard has everything to prove as he attempts to work his way back into the Norway ahead of the World Cup.

Against the best teams in the division, the Rangers need players who can come up with a piece of genius in clutch moments.

There is no question that Aasgaard can affect games and secure wins with a moment of brilliance.

He was decisive in Rangers’ most recent 4-2 victory against Dundee United.

Aasgaard was at the heart of the opening two goals before netting one himself in the second half.

Can he be a key player for Rangers to help them win the title?

Aasgaard’s tactical versatility and temperament

Aasgaard can operate as a number 10, a right winger, and as a central midfield player.

This versatility is imperative for Rangers’ success the rest of the season, especially with Andreas Skov Olsen struggling to make an impact.

In whatever position he plays, when at full throttle, Aasgaard can make the players around him much better.

His ability to dictate the game against Dundee United had a direct effect on Djeidi Gassama’s performance.

Gassama made 14 carries in the game and completed 100% of his passes, including two big chances created.

Aasgaard has a temperament and fearlessness that oozes confidence throughout the team.

He may lose the ball multiple times, but he isn’t afraid to try to beat a player and take a shot from 25 yards.

In a pressure situation like a three-way title race, the Gers need players who will be confident and cool under pressure.

Norway hopes

Aasgaard was omitted from the Norway squad for the latest international break, much to his disappointment.

The problem for him and other fringe players is continuing to back up performances week after week.

After an impactful game against Dundee United, the challenge for Aasgaard is to do the same against Falkirk.

He knows he must perform in the last six games to rejuvenate his Rangers career and get a spot at the World Cup.

This season, Aasgaard has scored five goals and produced three assists in the league.

Rangers will need a full squad effort of excellence and consistency to win the league.

Aasgaard has all the credentials to be a star in the title run-in, but can he remain consistent in the final six games?

The Norwegian star must play with his natural confidence to earn a spot back in the Norway team for the World Cup.
