- Connor Barron spoke to Sky Sports about Rangers’ title chances
- The Gers are one point behind Hearts ahead of the split
- Barron will have an integral part in Rangers winning the league
Rangers midfielder Connor Barron believes the club is hungry to win the Premiership title after a disappointing last season.
The Gers find themselves one point behind Hearts, with five games remaining in the season.
Barron signed from Aberdeen in 2024 and has yet to win a major trophy at Ibrox.
The midfielder reflected on last season’s disappointment and his hunger to get over the line this season.
Barron has missed a large chunk of this season after battling a knee injury he picked up in January.
Danny Rohl is still working him back into the first team fold, but he will be imperative during the highly anticipated split.
Here’s what Barron had to say to Sky Sports ahead of the title run-in.

‘It would mean everything’ to Barron.
“Everyone is pushing together and has the right mindset. Everyone is hungry to win the league, and hopefully we go and do it.”
“It’s obviously the first time for me, but it’s something this club thrives off, being in this type of position.”
“It was disappointing last season not being up there and challenging, but we’ve got a massive opportunity this season, and it’s one I want to be involved in.”
“We’ve got bags of quality in the dressing room and a lot of players that can go and affect games in different ways.”
“We’ve grown a lot as a team, we are improving each week, and we all want that winner’s medal around our neck.”
When asked what it would mean to win a league title, Barron said, “It would mean everything.”
An important title race player
Before getting injured in Rangers’ win against Aberdeen on January 6, Barron was one of the key players who turned the club’s fortunes around.
After missing three months, the most minutes he has managed in recent games is 18 against St Mirren.
Though he’s not 100% up to speed, Barron brings a grittiness and dogged style to the Rangers midfield.
The Gers will need players who get their hands dirty but will ensure the game is being controlled.
Barron’s made 83 defensive contributions this season and possesses an 88.6% pass completion statistic.
Barron also provides that defensive platform for players like Nico Raskin to go ahead and get forward.
