- Rangers predicted to win historic 56th Premiership title
- Gers tipped to finish two points above current leaders Hearts
- Danny Rohl’s men to collect nine points from their next 15
A supercomputer has predicted that Rangers will lift their 56th Scottish Premiership trophy at the end of the season.
The forecast from StatsUltra has given Danny Rohl’s men a 56% chance of winning their first league trophy in five years.
It shows that Rangers will win the league on 78 points, two points behind current leaders Hearts (76) who will drop to second and four ahead of third placed Celtic (75).
Rangers to win first post-split fixture on their path to the title
The data also predicts the first match of the split which has Rangers at a 53% chance of victory against Motherwell at Ibrox.
If this does come to pass then it will be a fifth league victory on the spin for Danny Rohl’s men and will extend their unbeaten run to 17 matches.
The visit of Motherwell also ranks the highest on an average strength of 52% which warns that the Gers should expect a tough match from Jens Berthel Askou’s men.
The computer also predicts victories for both of the Gers’ title rivals with a 37% and 60% chance for Hearts and Celtic respectively against Hibs and Falkirk.
It would leave the current league table as Hearts (73), Rangers (72) and Celtic (70) with four games remaining.
In Rangers’ case, if the data is to be believed, they would be six points away from the league title with Hearts and Celtic only gaining another three and five points.

Rangers unbeaten run predicted to come to an end during the split
This version of the finalised league table has Rangers on 78 points which means they will drop six points in the coming weeks.
Therefore, where these two defeats land is anyone’s guess but although the data does not specifically predict, the feeling of it being one or both of the visits to Hearts and Celtic is hard to ignore.
It also means that Rohl will suffer his second and third defeat in the Rangers’ dugout.
Goal difference to increase across the final five league matches
However, another positive other than the fact that Rangers are predicted to be crowned champions is that it will see an increase in the already superior goal difference.
The figures has Rangers goal difference standing at +38, three goals better that the current number while Hearts will remain at +30 and Celtic’s will improve by two goals.
As much as this demonstrates that the Gers’ penchant for scoring goals will continue, if the scoreline at Falkirk is any indication, a leaky defence may well remain an achilles heel for Rohl and his players.

The data will be music to the ears of Rangers’ supporters and that the data has picked up that although they are still behind leaders Hearts, the momentum is with Danny Rohl’s team.
However, a prediction is just that, a prediction and it is what happens in the real world that matters.
Time will tell if Rangers are four weeks away from winning the Premiership trophy and it is up to them to deliver.
