- Moore won Young Player of the Year at PFA Scotland awards night
- On-loan Tottenham winger has impressed for Rangers this season
- Recognition comes as questions continue over his future at Ibrox
18-year-old Mikey Moore has received PFA Scotland’s Young Player of the Year award after an impressive season at Rangers.
Moore has thrived since Danny Rohl was handed the reins at Ibrox in October with one notable moment being his goal against Celtic in January’s Old Firm league victory.
His journey at Rangers this season has culminated in clinching the award at last night’s ceremony as the teenager looks ahead to this evening’s showdown at Tynecastle.
We could also be witnessing Moore’s final weeks in a Rangers’ jersey as it remains to be seen whether he will return to his parent club Tottenham next season.
Award voted by the players highlights Moore’s impact across SPFL
As much as winning the award is a monumental achievement for the 18-year-old Moore, there is more to it than meets the eye.
This award was voted by players across the SPFL with Rangers-linked Luke Graham amongst the nominations.
What this shows is that Moore’s performances for Rangers has been noticed by players he has competed against as well as those at clubs in other divisions.
The teenager has impressed that much he has caught the eye of players across Scottish football and earned respect for how he has dealt with the pressure of Ibrox.
Achievement should motivate Moore ahead of tonight’s showdown
Moore’s award comes as Rangers prepare for tonight’s league match where defeat will all but end their hopes of winning the Premiership title.
Danny Rohl will need every one of his players to put in an almighty shift across 90-plus minutes to ensure victory and blow the race wide open for the final three games.
The timing of Moore’s achievement will surely have the youngster buoyed and full of confidence as he hopes to be handed a place in the starting line-up.
It will be another game where, as always the spotlight is on the players and the challenge for Moore will be whether he can translate personal acclaim into a strong performance.

Moore’s recognition caps off an impressive loan spell at Rangers.
However, it is not over yet and it is now up to the 18-year-old to show why he has deserved this award.
The perfect way to demonstrate that would be delivering stand-out performances across the final four games, starting tonight.
