  • Rangers 2026/27 season will begin on the first weekend of August
  • The Europa League campaign follows immediately with the safety net of the Conference League
  • The September and October international breaks will be merged into one, meaning a three-week absence of club football

With the underwhelming and disappointing 2025/26 season now in the history books, the key dates are emerging for Rangers 2026/27 season.

After the Scottish Cup final last weekend, we know that Rangers will be competing in the Europa League once again.

Thankfully, there is no ridiculously early start to the continental campaign, which would have been the case had Danny Rohl’s team been confined to the Conference League.

Key dates for Rangers 2026/27 season

The SPFL Premiership season gets underway at the start of August, with the return of European action coming immediately after that.

Rangers will enter the Europa League in the Third Qualifying round, with the Playoff round to follow before the ‘League’ phase takes shape.

If the Gers fall at the first hurdle, it would mean dropping into the Conference League Playoff.

Either way, the dreaded Thursday-Sunday schedule awaits.

The opening weeks of the new campaign will once again bring the start of the Premier Sports League Cup.

Later in the year, there will be an unusual and most likely unwanted break, with a three-week hiatus for club football.

This is because the September and October international windows have been merged into one, with another regular period to come in November.
