Rangers Home Kit Sponsor Panel Splits Fans As Derek McInnes Era Begins

Rangers’ new 2026/27 home kit has landed with an immediate supporter split, with the Unibet sponsor panel becoming the flashpoint as Derek McInnes prepares for his first full campaign at Ibrox.

The retro Umbro strip has been broadly praised for its blue base, white pinstripes and red-and-white trim, but the lighter blue sponsor block across the front has drawn criticism from sections of the fanbase, according to a fresh update from The Scottish Sun.

That makes the launch more than a standard summer retail story. Rangers are trying to frame the new season around reset, identity and momentum under McInnes, and the home shirt is often the first visible marker of that mood before pre-season begins.

Kit reaction gives Rangers an early fan mood check

The positive side for Rangers is that the core design appears to have connected. Supporters have responded warmly to the throwback feel, and Umbro’s return gives the club a familiar kit identity at the start of a new managerial cycle.

The sponsor-panel debate is the awkward detail. It does not change the football priorities facing McInnes, but it does show how closely every public-facing decision will be judged as Rangers try to rebuild trust and excitement.

With pre-season approaching, the club will want the conversation to move quickly from design quibbles to signings, staff changes and the first signs of McInnes’ team taking shape.
