A report in Norway has said a Rangers delegation is flying in to Tromso this afternoon to complete a deal for Jens Hjerto-Dahl.
The detail emerged from Nordlys.no earlier on Thursday and will provide a boost to Rangers supporters after a claim was made by Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph that Cardiff City were closing in on a deal for the highly-rated midfielder.
“A private jet from Glasgow is scheduled to land in Tromsø shortly before 4 PM,” said the Norwegian outlet.
Rangers embark on Norway mission to land Jens Hjerto-Dahl
With the Scandinavian nation being just one hour ahead of UK time, it means the transfer summit looks set to unfold this afternoon.
You don’t fly reps across Europe for nothing, and with the clock ticking toward the start of the Scottish Premiership season, it makes sense to get the deal done as a matter of priority.
The Norway U21 international has been monitored at Ibrox for more than a year.
This development comes after reports in Serbia claimed that Rangers have agreed a fee with Partizan Belgrade for Vanja Dragojevic.
If both players are signed, it would surely end Rangers’ recruitment in the engine room, given that Dan Neil and Cammy Devlin are already in the door.
It would then hasten the need for sales with question marks hanging over every other first-team midfielder at the club.
More to follow.
