He’s on his way! Couhaib Driouech is on his way to the UK for a medical test, ahead of completing his transfer from PSV Eindhoven to Rangers.
The left-winger is all set to become a Rangers player, pending the medical, giving everyone at the club a timely lift after the Youssef Chermiti injury news and the ongoing gloom around recent results.
Driouech was speaking to Mounir Boualin in Amsterdam, ahead of travelling to Manchester for the relevant medical checks.
He appeared very upbeat on the move, and hopefully the Moroccan will provide some of the quality required to transform Derek McInnes’ team.
Driouech speaks on pending Rangers move
Speaking ahead of his journey toward Glasgow, he said:
“I’m looking forward to the medical examination and hope everything goes well, so I can put my signature on the dotted line.”
“I’ve heard really good stories about the Rangers supporters. I’m looking forward to experiencing the fans in the stadium.”
He should get his first taste of that experience when Rangers take on Jagiellonia Bialystok in the Europa League on Thursday.
He will have to settle for a watching brief from the Main Stand, as he can’t be registered to play in this game.
All being well, Couhaib Driouech should be in line to make his Rangers debut against St. Mirren in the League Cup on Sunday, but firstly, we await confirmation of the deal and getting it over the line.
