Aston Villa are quickly moving on from the pending loss of Kosta Nedeljkovic with the signing of Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The DR Congo international will come in to compete with Matty Cash at right-back, with Unai Emery content to let the Serbian international move on.
Wan-Bissaka’s deal sees Villa reach the same type of agreement that was thrashed out with Rangers, as the former Crystal Palace and Manchester United defender will arrive at Villa Park on an initial loan with an obligation to buy at the end of the season.
Earlier on Tuesday, Read West Ham detailed that the club had rejected Aston Villa’s straight-loan proposal, with the Hammers having valued Wan-Bissaka at around £25million.
Villa have now returned with a structure West Ham are willing to accept.
Nedeljkovic closing in on Rangers transfer
Meanwhile, Kosta Nedeljkoic is said to have completed his Rangers medical on Tuesday.
It’s a smart deal from an Ibrox perspective with the ‘insurance policy‘ that’s built-in.
The 20-year-old should be confirmed as a Rangers player imminently, and in time to be added to the European squad for the Conference League tie against Jablonec on Thursday.
A fresh attacking element at right-back would be a welcome boost for the team, and could unlock further impact from Daisuke Yokota.
