Nico Raskin has not travelled with the squad for the Conference League game in Czechia due to serious transfer interest in the midfielder.
Derek McInnes confirmed that the Belgian international is the subject of increasing attention, forcing the club into a decision.
The outcome is that Nico Raskin could have played his last game for the club, having sat out last week’s first-leg victory over Jablonec at Ibrox.
It has previously been reported that Raskin is wanted by clubs in England, Italy and Spain, with Rangers now braced for a serious bid to land on the table.
Nico Raskin transfer latest
With the transfer window set to close in Scotland next Thursday, Rangers are preparing for sales as well as incoing players.
We know that deals are agreed for Kim Min-su and Kevin Kelsy, but McInnes told the press conference in Czechia that the club is close to “one or two more” in the coming days.
The situation around Nico Raskin has been an interesting sub-plot this summer.
After an impressive World Cup, the expectation was and is that the Belgian will be moving on.
The reality is that this is the right time to sell, with Nico Raskin having two years left on his Ibrox contract. The club has to get better at player trading, to get the right deal and shake hands then move on.
Raskin is a good player, but he isn’t what Rangers need in midfield, especially now.
