Rangers were said to be targeting Ferencváros striker Lenny Joseph, but the link has been dismissed by Chris Jack.
The Rangers Review journalist provided the update ahead of the Aberdeen vs Rangers clash at Pittodrie, while efforts are ongoing to secure the signing of Kevin Kelsy.
The situation around the Venezuelan striker is an intriguing one given that a fee was agreed with Portland Timbers days ago.
It is personal terms? Is it something else? We should have an outcome imminently, as Rangers will need to quickly move on to another target if Kelsy can’t be secured.
Whatever way that one unfolds, Lenny Joseph won’t be coming to Ibrox.
Rangers transfer news latest – Striker interest dismissed
Foot Mercato had claimed that Rangers were interested in signing Lenny Joseph.
The 25-year-old Paris-born Haiti international made to move to Budapest from Grenoble Foot in January 2025.
In 48 appearances last season, he recorded 16 goals and 10 assists across all competitions.
Moving into the last few days of the transfer window, Rangers are expected to be busy.
A couple of players are still likely to join Minsu Kim and the other 11 arrivals at the club this summer, but there should be more departures.
There is significant transfer interest around Nico Raskin, Djeidi Gassama, John Souttar, Ross McCausland and others.
After he was left out of the squad against Aberdeen, there will be question marks about the future of Bojan Miovski, but given how far out of the picture he is, an exit won’t come as a surprise.
