Rangers will not be signing Amario Cozier-Duberry in this window after the winger’s move to Middlesbrough was confirmed.
Boro got the deal done in time for the 11pm deadline, with the update confirmed on the hour.
Earlier on Tuesday, it was reported that Cozier-Duberry had penned new terms at Brighton and would be going on loan to the Championship.
This is the next stage in the 21-year-old’s development after a successful stint in League One with Bolton last season.
Rangers had tracked the winger with serious interest, including a £7.5m bid earlier in the window, but Brighton were holding out for a bigger fee to part with their man on a permanent basis.
Amario Cozier-Duberry will now feature for Kim Hellberg’s side this season, where he could team up with Connor Barron.
At this late stage, we are waiting to learn if Boro have been able to complete a loan deal for the Rangers player who has effectively been frozen out under Derek McInnes.
