Nico Raskin is set to remain a Rangers player beyond the closure of the transfer window in the Top Five leagues on Tuesday night.
However, doubt remains on his overall status, with reports that he still could be heading for the exit at Ibrox before the Scottish transfer deadline on Thursday.
Raskin won’t be moving to England, Spain, or Italy, but he could still be leaving Glasgow.
The Rangers Review has detailed that “there remains interest in Raskin from outside the top five leagues”
Turkey is a potential destination, with their window opened until later in the week, and there has been noise linking Fenerbahce and Besiktas with interest in Raskin.
Where does the Raskin stalemate leave Rangers?
It wasn’t supposed to be this way.
After a decent World Cup, all the signs pointed to a departure for Nico Raskin with Rangers receiving a strong fee for his services.
Maybe not as high as some suggested, but surely a double figure million deal could have been secured.
As things stand, that is not happening.
If Raskin is not sold by Thursday, Rangers position is weakened moving towarf January and next summer when he would then be in the final 12 months of his contract.
The club needs to be careful as to how the next two days unfold.
More to follow.
