With two days until the closure of the Scottish transfer window, the exit door has opened at Ibrox.
Lyall Cameron has completed a season-long loan move to Dundee United, while Connor Barron could be heading to the English Championship.
For Cameron, it’s a move that makes sense.
He hasn’t had a run at Ibrox under three different coaches and his loan spell at Aberdeen last season wasn’t the most productive.
Home comforts in the City of Discovery should serve the player well and the move to Tannadice provides a chance to represent his boyhood club.
Despite previously starring across the road at Dens Park for Dundee, Lyall Cameron is eager to get going for Jim Goodwin’s side.
“It’s no secret my family are United fans so i’m looking forward to be playing at Tannadice in front of the home supporters soon, Cameron told United’s official website.
“I like to get forward and create chances and score goals and hopefully get the fans off their feet.”
Barron bound for the Championship
Connor Barron is reportedly close to securing a move to Middlesbrough in the English Championship.
Earlier today, it emerged that the Aberdonian turned down a move to Hannover 96 in the German second tier, with a vow to stay and fight for his place, but football can change very quickly.
Now, Sky Sports has detailed that the Teeside club are striving to complete a loan deal for the 23-year-old before the 11pm deadline in England.
Rangers are said to have “granted permission” for Barron to scope out the potential switch to North Yorkshire.
Can Rangers afford to lose Raskin? Potential third midfield exit
If Barron and Cameron were to leave, it would put a different slant on Nico Raskin‘s potential exit.
The more time that passes, the more likely it is that the Belgian international will remain at Ibrox.
Conversely, Derek McInnes will surely not be impressed at losing two first-team ready options – and a backup player – with no reinforcements coming in.
It remains to be seen what incoming business will happen at Ibrox.
McInnes’ comments today suggested Kevin Kelsy could be the only new face in the building, but surely there’s space for a much-needed right-wing option on loan?
The countdown to Thursday continues.
