Bojan Miovski

Derek McInnes lavished praise on Bojan Miovski after the North Macedonian striker secured three points for Rangers against St. Mirren.

Racing on to Ryan Naderi’s flicked header after a Route One kick from Ivor Pandur, Miovski let his ability do the talking.

This time last week, it was feasible that the former Girona man would be leaving Ibrox, but instead he has put down a marker.

This was Miovski’s moment, and what a finish it was.

The goal sparked jubilant celebrations on and off the pitch, with the manager joining in with the Penny Arcade!

With his composure regained post-match, McInnes publicly talked up the quality and impact of Bojan Miovski, sending the message that more is to come.

McInnes backs Miovski after last-gasp winner

“I think it’s a testament to him and his professionalism, he always trains with motivation.

“I think when we first came in, obviously the club invested a lot of money in Youssef and Ryan, and Lawrence comes and he’s probably thinking ‘where am I going to fit in here?’

“But his goals per minute, both for Aberdeen and Rangers in the Premier League, is top class, and I’m just delighted to think that we have somebody with his calibre, his prowess in the building, his experience, because we’re not littered with experience.

“It’s just somebody who can come on, stay calm in those moments, so when there were difficult moments in that second half, I think sometimes you just need to get back on the horse and do things right, and his experience and his execution of the goal was first class.

“So I’m so pleased for him. He’s such a popular boy with the staff, the players, and I’m sure he keeps scoring late winners like that by the supporters, so a big moment for us in terms of the context of keeping winning.
