Lee McCulloch Tipped To Lead Rangers Recruitment Remodel After Purdy Exit

Former Ibrox captain Lee McCulloch has been tipped to lead the Rangers recruitment department following the resignation of technical director Dan Purdy. The Glasgow side are assessing their operational structure after Purdy vacated his position following a 15-month tenure. An official club statement published by Clyde 1 confirmed the transition: “We can confirm today that Dan Purdy will step down from his position as Technical Director.”

Brighton Framework Sparks Ibrox Links

McCulloch operates as a talent acquisition manager at Premier League side Brighton. His scouting framework has contributed to securing lucrative prospects including Joao Pedro, Matt O’Riley and Carlos Baleba. Journalist Mark Guidi suggests the former midfielder represents an ideal candidate to execute the strategic vision demanded by ownership figures Andrew Cavenagh and Paraag Marathe. Speaking via Ibrox News, Guidi said: “One name for me that stands out, he’s a former Rangers player, he has an excellent CV in this line of work, and that’s Lee McCulloch, former captain of the club..” Guidi added: “So, I don’t know if he’ll be on Rangers’ radar but they should certainly be getting him involved, he’s one of the best in the business.”

Bjornebye Guides January Transfer Plans

Any incoming technical chief must integrate with Stig Inge Bjornebye. The Norwegian arrived as a “football consultant and advisor”, as outlined by the Glasgow Times, to guide operations alongside manager Derek McInnes ahead of the January transfer window. Rangers next travel to face Celtic in the Scottish Premiership.
