It says it all when fans want four or five goals. That could have been the case, and it would have been deserved. Such was the extent of Rangers second half dominance at Ibrox against their bitter rivals.
Nico Raskin was rightly ruled offside for the headed effort from Manny Fernandez that would have registered a quickfire third goal after Kevin Kelsy’s first strike for the club.
However, that moment proved to be a matter of time.
On 75 minutes, Dan Neil was the first to a ball cleared from the Celtic box.
He composed and set himself with the first touch and used his second to ruthlessly secure his second of the game.
It was a beauty. Sam Johnstone had no chance. Top corner. 3-0. Game over.

What next for Rangers after Old Firm glory?
Rangers now need to follow up on this statement victory.
It was a fine result, a margin that was deserved, but the performance was beyond most people’s reasonable expectations.
Derek McInnes delivered a masterclass, but now it has to be backed up in the weeks and months ahead.
The immediate challenge is to go to Parkhead on league business next week and prove it wasn’t a one-off.
That game should be more difficult, and Celtic will need to come with a different plan if they are to secure the outcome they want.
At Ibrox on Sunday, a fully partisan crowd assisted Rangers’ efforts. A similar situation, in reverse, applies to Celtic on Sunday in the east end.
Anyway, all of that and more can wait for now.
There’s still time to rejoice and bask in the afterglow of a spectacular Old Firm success for Rangers.
