- Rangers put their creativity issues aside to put four goals past Aberdeen with a quartet of scorers.
- However, both starting forwards failed to find the net despite a boost from midfield.
- Could a revamped partnership provide Rangers with the striking boost ahead of the title run-in?
Rangers goals issue has been a real source of frustration for the Ibrox support this season.
Fans point to a lack of creativity and not having a clinical centre forward as the main concerns heading into the Premiership title run in.
Aberdeen annihilation
Danny Rohl’s side steamrollered past Aberdeen 4-1 on Saturday with a quartet of different scorers.
Now the question is if Rangers are improving their output just at the right time?
Rangers midfielders make their mark
Tochi Chukwuani opened the scoring from midfield with his first league goal.
He was joined by fellow middle-man Nicolas Raskin who netted the third after Mikey Moore made it two.
This was a welcome change for Rohl – with his side being heavily reliant on his defenders and wide-men to contribute goals.
The midfield duo, usually both noted as deeper-lying players, both netting and playing more advanced is an added string to this Rangers side’s bow.
Front line fail to net
Skipper James Tavernier also got in on the act with Bojan Miovski unlucky not to net against his old side with a harsh handball decision disallowing his goal.
However, it was yet another game where neither starting striker found the net.
Yousef Chermiti had a big chance early on from a corner which he headed over. He also found himself through after a long pass from Raskin but failed to hit the target.
Ryan Naderi also had a header saved by Dons’ keeper Dimitar Mitov but failed to overly threaten otherwise.
The German, however, was involved heavily in Moore’s goal, driving from halfway up to the opposition box before teeing up the young loanee.

Could a change of partner up top be what Naderi needs to flourish.
Both he and Chermiti are guilty of preferring to be the link-up man. Both drop deep and aim to win the initial ball forward, with neither aiming for the second.
With Chermiti once again barren in front of goal.
Could linking Miovski with Naderi be the ideal front-two for Dundee United’s Ibrox visit following the international break.
Miovski was brought on for only the final five minutes plus stoppages but was a clear threat.
Not only did he have the ball in the back of the net after excellent link-up with Naderi but he also dragged defenders across the pitch in the build-up to Tavernier’s free-kick.
There is clearly an understanding between the two forwards.
Playing both from the start could get the best out of the Ibrox frontline at a vital point of the season.
