Why the international break has come at the perfect time for Bojan Miovski

  • Rangers striker Bojan Miovski has struggled in recent weeks at Rangers
  • Miovski has the task of firing North Macedonia to the World Cup this break
  • Can he use the international break to get back firing in Scotland?

Bojan Miovski is becoming somewhat of a forgotten man at Ibrox, with the international break coming at a perfect time.

The striker has played second fiddle to Youssef Chermiti under Danny Rohl, playing sporadically.

Miovski has been selected by North Macedonia ahead of their crucial World Cup qualifying match against Denmark.

After a frustrating start to 2026, the break arrives as a godsend for Miovski. It offers him the chance to return to being the main frontman.

This international window gives him the ideal chance to reset and gain his striking edge before the title race ends.

He and North Macedonia face the Danes on March 26 before a potential showdown against Ireland or the Czech Republic.

Tough time for Bojan Miovski at Ibrox

In the last five league games, the North Macedonian striker has registered less than 60 minutes in a Rangers jersey.

It’s been impossible for Miovski to get any consistency, playing only the last few minutes against Aberdeen last weekend.

In 24 matches this season, he’s only managed four goals and one assist.

His last goal for Rangers was on February 4, netting in Rangers’ 5-1 win against Kilmarnock.

He swaps the Ibrox bench for a starting shirt, gaining the lungs and sharpness that only 90-minute shifts can provide.

The break could be the perfect time for Miovski to become a different player when the season splits.

The main man internationally

There is a different weight to the shirt when Miovski plays for his country.

For North Macedonia, he isn’t the expensive summer signing under the microscope; he is the hero.

For his country this season, Miovski has registered three goals and one assist in eight matches.

He’s played 568 minutes in those games, being a big part in his country’s attempts to reach the World Cup.

Post-break opportunity

Rangers are entering the most gruelling part of the calendar, with the high-stakes split fixtures looming.

Danny Rohl needs a Plan B that works if games are going against the Gers during the run-in.

We’ve seen flashes of Miovski’s movement and his ability, but he has looked like a player overthinking his touches.

If Miovski returns from international duty with a goal in his pocket and 180 minutes in his legs, he ceases to be a squad option and becomes a genuine contender to lead the line.

Miovski has been crying out to play and gain some confidence, and this is the perfect time as we head into the business end.

Bojan Miovski has all the tangibles to be a real asset for Rangers as we approach the end of the season.

He’s struggled for game time, but his break with North Macedonia could be the catalyst for a new and improved Miovski.

Can he come back from international duty with a spring in his step at Ibrox?
