  • Scott Brown warns Rangers face toughest test at Falkirk as title race intensifies.
  • John McGlynn and Barney Stewart aim to influence title race ahead of Rangers fixture.
  • Dujon Sterling praised after return, while Rangers risk missing out on youth prospect and more…

Former Celtic captain Scott Brown has suggested that Rangers have the hardest match of the upcoming weekend.

The Gers travel to Falkirk while Hearts and Celtic host Motherwell and St Mirren respectively.

Speaking on BBC Sportsound, Brown said: “For me the hardest one this weekend is Falkirk because they are a really good team.

“On that astroturf pitch, teams find it hard going there.

“Falkirk are having a great season and John McGlynn has done such a fantastic job there.

“The way they set up, they have good power and a lot of youngsters in that team as well. It’s going to be a really hard place for Rangers to go.

“They will have to fancy themselves as well because their manager has come out and said if they win every game they will win the league. All the managers will be saying the same thing.”

Brown was recently sacked as manager of Championship side Ayr United, leaving the future of Rangers loanee Leon King in doubt.

John McGlynn not purely focused on Rangers

Falkirk manager John McGlynn has silenced questions about his preference for the Premiership title.

The 64-year-old was previously a member of Celtic’s staff but has gone on to guide Falkirk from League One to a top six Premiership finish within three seasons.

He had previously spoken about wanting to strike a blow to Rangers title hopes ahead of their meeting this weekend.

“We are playing in big games all the time now and we’re going to finish the season by playing in big games,” he said.

“We’re looking forward to playing our part next week against Rangers.”

He has now said that this aim extends to all title chasing teams, including Hearts and Celtic.

“We’re going to be in the mix. I’ve not been looking at any great detail of this particular game or that particular game. We’re just happy to be in there,” he said when asked about his side’s top half finish.

“We never expected to be there at the beginning of the season. The boys have done incredibly well, way beyond our expectation. We’re just going to enjoy it.

“We’re just going to do it for Falkirk, for the boys themselves, for the fans, everyone at the football club.

“We’re not going to get involved in conspiracies and everything else. We’re doing it for him and this team and that team and all the rest of it.

“We are doing it for Falkirk Football Club.”

Barney Stewart aims to break Rangers’ hearts

Meanwhile, Bairns forward Barney Stewart is looking to boost familial morale with goals against Rangers and Celtic.

“I plan on scoring before every game but that would be massive. Especially with my dad being a Hearts fan – that would be really big,” he explained.

Rangers will return to the Falkirk Stadium on the final matchday, hoping to lift the Premiership title in Grangemouth.

Agent backs Dujon Sterling

The agent of Rangers defender Dujon Sterling has posted his public backing of his client via LinkedIn.

Executive Vice President of General Sports Worldwide, who represent Sterling, Mark Gottlieb wrote: “Success is certainly not linear.

“In October 2025, Danny Rohl took over as Head Coach at Glasgow Rangers. The club was lying 6th in the league, 13 points off the top and 1 win in 8 games.

“Since then, Rangers have lost only one league game and now with 6 games left of the SPFL season, they are serious contenders for title No 56.

“6 victories and the title is Rangers’”

“This has been a superb effort by everyone associated with Rangers, not least of all, the players.

“Client Dujon Sterling is back fit and making an impact. Two days ago, he put in a superb performance and nicked a goal in the 4-2 win at Ibrox against Dundee United.

“Dujon knows full well success isn’t linear. Setbacks have massively challenged him.

“Players like Dujon have an inbuilt belief and resilience to never give up.”

Sterling returned to the starting XI after his most recent injury and should he stay fit, he will be key to their title chances.

Rangers set to miss out on youth prospect

Graeme Bailey has suggested that 16-year-old left-back Harris Afzal is currently in London as Crystal Palace look to convince him to choose Selhurst Park over rivals Southampton.

The Queen’s Park prospect was linked with a move across Glasgow to Ibrox, but it seems as if the pull of England and the finances down south have settled his decision.

Rangers signed fellow Spiders’ youth prospect James Reid last summer, and he has become a key part of the Gers U19’s defensive setup.

Bojan Miovski superfan travels to Ibrox

A devoted Bojan Miovski fan travelled more than 2,000 miles to watch him play and saw the perfect moment as he netted the final goal against Dundee United to move Rangers within one point of Hearts.

The former Aberdeen striker reflected on the meeting, saying: “It feels great. I love my country and to see someone from far away come and support me, I really appreciate it.

“It was a great day today. I’m proud to represent my country and especially my people when they are here to cheer for me.”

Sharing his experience online, the fan added: “A long journey, a special night, and a goal to remember. Moments like this make it all worth it.”
