- Rangers are in Marbella, Spain for their warm-weather training camp
- Danny Rohl believes the trip will be beneficial amid title race shootout to follow
- Instant weather benefit is clear to see already
Footage of Rangers’ training camp in Marbella, Spain has been shared online on Nasser Djiga’s Instagram account.
The recording is believed to have been taken by his agent or associate and has been doing the rounds on social media.
It is the first footage to have been released (or leaked in this case) of the training camp in Spain, with nothing from the official club channels so far.
Scotland and Spain contrast highlighted
What is clear immediately is the difference in climate compared to Scotland with the Spanish sunshine beneficial to the squad in various ways.
The huge pressure that is lying waiting for them at Ibrox won’t be lost on Rohl or his players and what the Spanish climate provides is a mental refresh ahead of a season defining final five matches.
The break, which would not be taking place were Rangers preparing for a Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden, also allows for breathing space for those needing recovery time.
Mikey Moore is a prime example after a knock saw him subbed off in the Falkirk match last weekend.
Danny Rohl’s comments
The manager has previously spoken about the decision to fly him and his squad to Spain, which is forecast for 22 degrees on Thursday.
Rohl commented, “It is good to have the group together, the players together. To have a little bit of time for recovery but also to work on some small details. It’s also good to refresh the mind.
“I see a lot of benefits. I will have time with the board to speak about topics for the future. This is also nice to have, and I think it goes in a good direction. The players should do something together as well. This is crucial. Then we come back and focus on the split.”
