In from the cold – Rangers forgotten man sends a timely reminder of his ability

  • Oliver Antman came off the bench at Falkirk and made a goal instantly.
  • Impressive cameo shows that the Finland international shouldn’t be counted out.
  • Another encouraging signal that the squad is responding to each other.

Oliver Antman sent a timely reminder of his ability with an impressive late impact against Falkirk on Sunday.

The Finland international came into the game on 85 minutes and by 88, he put the ball on a plate for Bojan Miovski to complete the half dozen.

Not only did Antman set up the striker but it was his initial pass and rapid movement that created the opportunity.

Antman makes statement on return to the team

Oliver Antman last featured for Rangers in the recent 4-1 win over Aberdeen.

He wasn’t involved against Dundee United and prior to that, he only had two brief substitute appearances in February.

That has been the extent of Antman’s Rangers involvement in 2026.

In truth, injuries and a lack of momentum have resulted in the former Go Ahead Eagles player not being able to make a real impression under Danny Rohl.

That is the story so far, but it can change.

Antman featured for his country in their March games against New Zealand and Cape Verde.

His sharpness is returning at the right time, and he evidenced that he is ready to contribute with his late burst at Falkirk.

With his actions, Oliver Antman joined a growing band of Rangers players contributing to goal actions.

The team has scored a massive 15 goals over the last four games, with a total of 13 players contributing in goals or assists.

Tuur Rommens, Tochi Chukwuani, Mikey Moore, Nico Raskin, James Tavernier, Ryan Naderi, Dujon Sterling, Thelo Aasgaard, Bojan Miovski, Youssef Chermiti, Djeidi Gassama, Andreas Skov Olsen, with Antman the latest to join the club.

The two week break, inclusive of Rangers training break in Spain, means breathing space for the squad, fans, and club, even if the emphatic Falkirk result makes you want another game as soon as possible.

Oliver Antman will be able to continue to make an impression in training to show that he is ready when called upon.

He is one of many Rangers players pushing the stats upward and keeping Rangers hot on the heels of Hearts in the title race.

That form must continue on 26 April when Motherwell come to Ibrox.
