- Chris Wilder hinted at a potential Tyrese Campbell exit
- Rangers have been actively interested in Campbell since his days at Stoke City
- Wilder doesn’t want to be ‘mugged off’ by a low ball offer
Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has hinted at a potential exit for striker Tyrese Campbell amid Rangers interest.
Campbell has been a long-time target of the Rangers since he left Stoke City in 2024.
He’s since played for Sheffield United, helping them reach the playoff final before losing to Sunderland at Wembley.
This season, the attacker has been plagued with recurring injuries and has struggled to make a strong impact.
His manager, Chris Wilder, spoke to the media ahead of their game against Watford on Saturday afternoon.
He highlighted Campbell as a player they need to sort out, especially with his contract entering its final 12 months.

What Wilder said about Tyrese Campbell
“Well, yeah, there’ll be the financial aspects of it, looking at players.”
“The two big ones are the obvious standouts in Tyrese and Gus (Hamer), so talks with their agents and talks with the players as well.”
“Tyrese was outstanding last year. He’s not hit the heights at all this year.”
“So, if he re-signs, then great, and then it’s up to him and us to get him back to the standards that he set in that season.”
“Still think there’s a player in there, but as always, the question will be, do you want to be part of our new journey?”
“And if they don’t, then we’ll do our best to facilitate that and make things happen without getting mugged off by somebody just offering or low-balling us.”
A good fit for Rangers?
Campbell would be a great fit for Rangers as an attacker who can play across the front line.
He netted 11 goals last season in a thriving Sheffield United team, proving he can make valuable contributions to a successful team.
Right-footed players dominate the Rangers’ attack; Campbell would provide a much-needed left-footed option.
Campbell is still only 26 despite having extensive experience in the Championship.
The next few years are going to be the prime of his career, so he has a huge decision to make that will affect his future.
The Gers want to be aggressive on all fronts next season.
Players like Campbell will only benefit the dressing room.

In my opinion, Chris Wilder’s comment seems like Campbell already has one eye on a project elsewhere.
The attacker plays his best stuff in a team that’s successful and dominates games.
At Rangers, Campbell will be in a team wanting to win every game while challenging for silverware.
The option of playing in Europe must also be a major factor over any other club interested in his services.
Given his versatility and proven ability to contribute at a high level, Campbell could provide Rangers with valuable options and depth in attack.
Considering his experience and potential to thrive in a successful team, it appears Rangers would benefit from securing his signature.
