- Robbie Ure scores again for Sirius, who lead the Allsvenskan in the early stages of the season
- The former Rangers youth product has now scored nine goals in 10 apps, in league and cup
- Ure has sent a come-and-get-me plea to Steve Clarke and Scotland, refuting Ukraine links
Robbie Ure scored again for his club in Sweden on Monday night, continuing his impressive early-season form.
Sirius secured a 2-2 draw away to Hacken, with the former Rangers academy prospect giving his team a lifeline before half-time, which they followed up with a late equaliser.
Robbie Ure has now scored four goals, with one assist, across the first five games of the 2026 Allsvenskan season.
Sirius are the current league leaders in Sweden, ahead of Elfsborg and Malmo by three points.
Truth about Robbie Ure decision to leave Rangers
Recently on Read Rangers, we discussed if Robbie Ure was the one that got away.
Now he is increasingly looking like the one that Rangers will regret.
The player left Ibrox in May 2023 after rejecting a contract extension.
The truth is that he hasn’t looked back since.
Ure took the courageous step to develop his game and career abroad with a move to Anderlecht.
He played almost 40 games for the Belgian club’s second team, with just one appearance for the first team.
Then last year, he signed for Sirius.
Scottish striker in red-hot form in Sweden
Robbie Ure has hit the ground running in the Allsvenskan, scoring 16 goals (across all competitions) last season, and now he has picked up where he left off.
He’s now approaching double figures for the current campaign, with the Swedish season in its opening stage.
Robbie Ure will be a player who is attracting the interest of many clubs across Europe.
Rangers have lost out already because there was no realistic pathway for the striker, and others like him, in recent times.
In some ways, he has been a victim of the continued upheaval at the club in recent seasons, but it’s also very difficult for a young striker to gain a foothold at Ibrox.
Time and patience are in short supply most of the time.
If Rangers are serious about rekindling interest in the 22-year-old, they will need to make their move soon.
He won’t be playing in Sweden for too much longer.
Ure outlines Scotland ambitions
Robbie Ure has also sent a come and get me plea to Steve Clarke.
Scotland aren’t exactly blessed with in-form strikers and he is one of those.
Having been overlooked for the recent friendly games against Japan and Ivory Coast, it would be a pleasant surprise if Clarke does look ‘outside’ his core group for reinforcements, but there is a strong case here.
Ure was subject to speculation about a potential international breakthrough with Ukraine, as he is eligible to play for the Eastern European nation.
That door appears to have been shut by the man himself, after the following comments in the aftermath of his latest goal for Sirius:
“It would be a dream to be selected for the World Cup.
“Right now, I’m just trying to create as many questions as possible for our national team manager.
“I haven’t been in any squads yet, but it would be incredible to be selected. I want to keep playing like this and give the management some selection problems.
“Honestly, I read about the Ukraine interest, but I don’t know more than that. But I’m Scottish, so….
“But I’m not in contact with any national teams right now.”
“I think no matter who you ask, they would say that going to the World Cup and playing for your country is a once-in-a-lifetime chance. We’ll see, hopefully, I keep scoring goals.
“I’m sure everything will fall into place eventually. Now I’m just focusing on Sirius.”
