- Danny Rohl admits the limitations of this Rangers team after the loss to Celtic
- Rangers have now lost more games post-split than was recorded all season
- Serious pressure is building on Rohl from the outside
Danny Rohl has conceded the failings and shortcomings of this Rangers team in the aftermath of the defeat to Celtic at Parkhead on Sunday.
Once again, Rohl’s men started brightly then faded to nothing, wilting under the pressure of intensity and determination from Celtic.
The result may have been different only for the disgraceful decision for VAR not to be used to send off Alastair Johnston for Celtic. That’s only part of today’s latest disappointment.
It’s nothing new for the supporters, but hopefully, it’s the last we see of some of these players in a Rangers shirt.
With two relatively meaningless games left this season, the manager needs to play the young lads and the select few who deserve to retain the jerseys.
What Danny Rohl said after Celtic 3 Rangers 1
After the defeat to Celtic, which truly ends Rangers’ season in a competitive sense, Danny Rohl was asked by Sky Sports Luke Shanley:
“Is this team showing what they can do by getting back in the title race but also showing now its limitations by not being able to take it a step further?”
Rohl responded:
“Yeah, I can agree with this.
“Even today, you look to the 90 minutes. I will not make it better because we lost. When you take the game there are some good things, but good is not enough for us, for the club.
“We want to be the best, we want to win titles, and from this point we have to take a big learning for the new season. This is what we have to do.”

Danny Rohl is under serious pressure. From the outside anyway.
Is he the man to mastermind and deliver on another rebuild for Rangers?
Is he capable of providing the nous, the leadership, and the single-mindedness to get Rangers back on top?
The jury is out on that one, and it will be interesting to learn what emanates from Andrew Cavanagh and the top table at Ibrox, in the coming days and weeks.
The fans are getting restless and no wonder.
