- Rangers view Moore as part of rebuild vision, though transfer control involves multiple parties.
The Rangers future of Mikey Moore has been cast back into focus after head coach Danny Rohl signalled his intention to build a strong left-sided partnership involving the Tottenham loanee ahead of next season.
Moore, who is due to return to Spurs this summer, had already described his spell at Ibrox as a “special experience.”
He also admitted he will leave Scotland with a lasting emotional attachment to the club.
This will remain, regardless of what his next step becomes.
The 18-year-old’s long-term future remains unresolved and will ultimately be decided by Spurs’ new manager Roberto De Zerbi.
However, Rohl’s post-match comments after Rangers’ 5-2 final-day win over Falkirk offered a clear indication of how highly he is rated within the Ibrox set-up.
Danny Rohl wants to extend Mikey Moore stay
Speaking after the victory, Rohl referenced Moore directly when discussing squad planning and the importance of continuity on Rangers’ left flank.
“Mikey feels really well here. We can bring him to the next level as well,” he said.
“He has his position and I think also the relationship with Tuur [Rommens]. Mikey next year could be a strong left side as well.”
The remarks point to a clear tactical vision.
Moore and Rommens are viewed as a potential combination to provide width, creativity and balance in a key attacking area.
However, Rohl also acknowledged the reality.
The German stressing that Rangers are one of three parties involved in any final decision over the player’s future.
“We are very clear as a club what we want,” he said.
“But there are still three parties, and we are just one of them.”
The Spurs situation
Moore’s situation is further complicated by the managerial transition at Spurs, with the teenager confirming he will return to North London before assessing his options under new leadership.
The winger’s loan spell has been viewed internally as a success in terms of development.
He has shown improved physicality, decision-making and consistency noted across his time in Glasgow.
Rohl’s willingness to publicly outline a potential role for him next season suggests Rangers would be keen to extend his stay if circumstances allow.
Given the uncertainty around squad depth and attacking options heading into a major summer rebuild, stability on the flank would be preffered.
While no decision has been made. Moore remains firmly in the club’s thinking, but his future will ultimately be determined away from Glasgow.
