Rangers Under-19s are competing in the 2026 Standard Chartered Soccer Sevens at Hong Kong Football Club this weekend.

The tournament runs from this Saturday, (May 23–24), with the group stage matches primarily on Saturday and the knockouts on Sunday.

The event is a seven-a-side invitational event featuring academy/youth teams from Europe and Asia, plus local sides.

Games are short (two 7-minute halves, with a 10-minute final), played on the HKFC pitches in Happy Valley.

Rangers U19 side will compete in Group D alongside the following teams:

  • Yokohama F. Marinos U21 (Japan)
  • Hong Kong Rangers (also referred to as BC Rangers)
  • Yau Yee League Select (Hong Kong)

Rangers recently won the CAS Elite League, so they’re heading into this in good form.

With the club represented in the Hong Kong tournament once again, a trio of players involved are coming off a high after first-team involvement last week

Zeb Lawson, Ashton Scally, and Aiden McCallion were all used as second-half substitutes in the last game of the season against Falkirk.

All three were praised by Danny Rohl, with their minutes considered a reward for the hard work and progress made with the U19s this season.
