What is the Saxony Cup?
The regional derby was a solid, deserved victory for Aue, providing some consolation after their relegation from the 3. Liga.
Next season, they will join FSV in the fourth-tier Regionalliga Nordost.
Aue marked their fifth Saxony Cup title overall, which earned them a spot in the 2026/27 DFB-Pokal, the national cup competition in Germany.
As for Zwickau, the cup final defeat ended a strong 31-game unbeaten home streak, and they still have never won the state competition.
