The short Rangers career of Derek Cornelius looks to he over with the on-loan Marseille defender told to train with the youth team at the training centre
The Canadian defender recently returned to first-team training but weeks on he remains short of match fitness.
This has lead Danny Rohl to send him away.
Sources suggest that he was told to report to training with Malky Thomson’s second string from now on.
Rangers are yet to officially confirm this but his training gear has reportedly been moved out of the top team complex.
Canada call up
Despite this, Canada national team boss Jesse Marsch has confirmed the 28-year-old will travel with his next squad later this month.
He said: “The March roster will include many of the injured players who can’t play in the games.
“There’s a lot of guys who’ve had some long-term injuries.
“The likes of Alistair Johnston, Derek Cornelius and Promise David
“We’re going to bring in a little bit of a bigger group, to include some of these injured players and in their return-to-play protocol.
“They might not feature in games, but we want them around the team.
“We still have enough time where guys have the ability to recover and get themselves back to 100%, or at least close to 100%, by June.”

Cornelius joined Rangers under the management of Russell Martin in the summer from the French side and Rangers had an option to make that move permanent.
He made 12 appearances for Rangers before an injury in November – scoring once.
This leaves Rangers with only Nasser Djiga and Emmanuel Fernandez as reliable options for the Premiership run in.
John Souttar remains as back up but is short of form.
Martin spoke about regrets in his recruitment during his short stint in Govan.
This now looks another blot on his already graffiti-ridden copy book.
