West Ham will make a summer move for Rangers defender Emmanuel Fernandez if they remain in the English Premier League according to reports.
The Hammers are set to start the bidding for the Nigerian international at £15m with Danny Rohl’s side looking for upwards of £20m.
There has also been reported interest in the defender from Germany.
Falkirk boss John McGlynn confirmed that some of the top Bundesliga sides had been in attendance for the Gers recent win over the Bairns.
“We had Feyenoord and Bayer Leverkusen watching our game yesterday,” he revealed following Rangers 6-3 win in Grangemouth.
“That’s the first foreign scouts I think I’ve ever had watching our team!
“They might have been watching the Rangers team as well, right enough!
“There were a number of scouts, much more scouts there yesterday than there have been.
“A lot of English clubs, well-recognised, prominent English clubs.”
Rangers warned of Iheanacho threat
Former Rangers striker Steven Thompson has labelled Celtic forward Kelechi Iheanacho as the Hoops’ biggest attacking threat ahead of the upcoming Old Firm clash.
Thompson’s warning comes after Iheanacho’s impact in Celtic’s Scottish Cup semi-final win over St Mirren.
The Nigerian struck twice in extra time after coming off the bench, helping seal a 6-2 victory following a 2-2 draw in normal time.
Speaking on BBC Sportsound, Thompson highlighted the striker’s all-round quality as a key concern for Rangers.
“We talk about his goals, which were both really well taken,” he said.
“But his link play shows a knowledge of the game that the others don’t bring.
“He’s the most rounded striker at Celtic by a mile.”
Iheanacho, who joined Celtic as a free agent after leaving Sevilla, has endured an inconsistent first season disrupted by injury.
However, now regaining fitness, his recent form suggests he could play a pivotal role in the title run-in, including against Rohl’s men next month.
Nicky Clark recalls famous Old Firm victory
Former Rangers striker Nicky Clark has reflected on one of the most dramatic matches of his career, the iconic 2016 Scottish Cup semi-final win over Celtic.
A decade on, Clark still recalls the emotional extremes of that day at Hampden.
On that day Mark Warburton’s Championship Gers side stunned their rivals on penalties after a 2-2 draw.
“I’ve won league titles, but that game is still one of the highlights of my career, despite missing the penalty!” he admitted to the Daily Record.
Thrown into extra time, Clark stepped up in the shootout only to see his effort saved by Craig Gordon, a moment he feared had cost his side.
“It’s a horrible feeling any time you miss a penalty. But in a game of that magnitude was horrendous,” he revealed.
“I wanted the ground to swallow me up.”
Relief came quickly, though, as Rangers recovered to seal a famous victory, one Clark believes signalled the club’s resurgence.
“We were in the division below at the time, beating Celtic was a statement,” he explained.
“We were showing we could compete with the best.
Now back with Queen of the South, Clark is chasing promotion once again, but that afternoon remains a defining chapter.
“It’s all a blur after that until the celebrations, it was absolutely incredible.”
