In Rangers’ 154-year history numerous of players have signed for the club and had the official scarf picture on their arrival at Ibrox.
However, some have come with an expensive price tag and millions have been spent in order to bring them to Rangers.
These are the top five most expensive players to sign for the club and where they are now.
5. Arthur Numan
Numan signed for Rangers in May 1998 from PSV Eindhoven and was one of Dick Advocaat’s first signings as manager.
The Dutchman suffered injuries in the first months of his five-year tenure at the Gers but he helped Rangers win the treble in his first season.
Numan went on to win another seven trophies for Rangers including another three titles in his final season.
After leaving Ibrox, the 56-year-old managed Netherlands B in 2008 and is currently a scout for Eredivisie club AZ.
4. Mikel Arteta
Mikel Arteta was 20-years-old when he rocked up to Ibrox after the club signed him from Barcelona B.
The Spaniard had a successful two-year spell in Glasgow and is best known for scoring the penalty that clinched the Premiership title for Rangers on goal-difference during ‘Helicopter Sunday’ in the 2002/03 season.
Arteta then played for Real Sociedad, Everton and Arsenal before becoming Pep Guardiola’s assistant at Manchester City.
He returned to Arsenal as manager in 2019 with the Gunners currently embroiled in a Premier League title race.
3. Youssef Chermiti
Chermiti signed for Rangers from Everton last summer, putting pen to paper on a four-year deal.
The 21-year-old has had a rollercoaster first season at Ibrox with doubts raised over the club’s decision to sign him due to his inconsistency in front of goal.
However, the Portuguese scored a brace in the win over Falkirk and the hope is that the striker is finding form at the right time.
2. Michael Ball
Michael Ball also signed for Rangers from the Merseyside club in 2001, remaining at the club for four years.
Ball made 55 league appearance for the club in a tenure that was hampered by payment issues with the Gers reluctant to play him as doing so would trigger an extortionate sum of money being paid to Everton.
After leaving Rangers, where he won the Premier League and League Cup in the 2004/05 season, he played for PSV, Manchester City and Leicester.
1. Tore Andre Flo
The biggest fee Rangers have paid for any player, Tore Andre Flo arrived at Ibrox from Chelsea in November 2000.
The Norwegian made a great impression on his debut when he scored in the 5-1 victory over Celtic and won the Scottish Cup and League Cup in the 2001/02 season.
Flo entered management with Sogndal in January 2022 where he remained until September 2024 and was appointed manager of the Norway youth teams last February.
