  • Silas Andersen expected to leave BK Hacken with Rangers tracking highly rated midfielder closely.
  • Nico Raskin and Mohamed Diomande entering final two contract years and expected to depart.
  • Stephen Robinson confirms permanent Aberdeen move for Lyall Cameron may be difficult.

Rangers pursuit of BK Hacken midfielder Silas Andersen comes as the club prepare for significant change in the centre of the pitch, with several departures expected and contract situations now shaping summer planning at Ibrox.

Andersen, 21, is set to leave the Swedish side this summer, with both Rangers and Celtic tracking his progress closely as he prepares for the next step in his career.

Silas Andersen tipped for Hacken departure

Hacken sporting director Erik Friberg has effectively confirmed the midfielder’s departure, describing him as ready for a higher level.

“It also feels like he’s ready to take the next step in his career,” Friberg said to Expressen.

“He is so good, and ready for the next step.”

He also confirmed the club’s strong negotiating position.

“We don’t have a clause in any player. So, we control that completely ourselves,” he added.

Andersen’s profile, a progressive, technically secure midfielder capable of operating in multiple phases of play.

This has made him an attractive option for Rangers as they look to refresh their midfield unit with younger, high-ceiling profiles.

Rangers prepare for midfield turnover

However, any move would come against the backdrop of expected squad turnover in the same area of the pitch.

Nico Raskin and Mohamed Diomande are both understood to be entering the final two years of their respective contracts.

Their long-term futures likely to be away from Govan as Gers cash in on the duo.

Both players are expected to attract interest, and Rangers will face key decisions over whether to extend or consider offers while value remains high.

Further uncertainty surrounds Bailey Rice, who is currently out of contract after missing almost the entire season following his early-season appearance against Alloa in the League Cup.

His long-term place in the squad is now unclear as Rangers evaluate development the pros and cons of extending his deal.

Jose Cifuentes is also set to return to the club, after a third loan spell away from Ibrox failed to secure a permanent exit for the Ecuadorian.

Lyall Cameron set for Ibrox return

The combination of contract timelines and squad imbalance has accelerated planning in midfield, with Rangers expected to reshape the department significantly regardless of managerial continuity.

Elsewhere, Aberdeen manager Stephen Robinson has admitted that a permanent deal for Rangers loanee Lyall Cameron will be difficult.

The former St Mirren gaffer highlighted the financial pressure across the domestic market.

“It’s not something we’ve ruled out. Lyall’s obviously come from Rangers on, I would imagine, quite a lot of money,” said the Dons boss.

“I’ve not got involved in the financial side of that. So, it may be difficult to do a deal like that.

“At this stage, everything’s on the table.”

Andersen represents both a strategic fit and a market opportunity.

However, any move will sit within a wider recalibration of a midfield group that is heading towards a decisive summer of change.

Another season without a trophy and come and gone.

During which the Gers have been unable to dominate the Premiership in the middle of the park.

Speculation remains around the long-term position of Ibrox boss Danny Rohl, but no matter who is in the dugout when pre-season commences, there will be a major squad overhaul this summer.
