AC Milan are attempting to hijack Rangers’ attempts to sign Sankhoun Diawara – however, all is not quite as it seems.
The Serie A giants want the 20-year-old to join their second string, AC Milan Futuro, who currently compete in Serie D.
Now, surely that changes the dynamic of the decision facing the player?
As reported by Mercato Foot journalist Santi Aouna, the San Siro club are aiming to stop Rangers’ bid to sign the Paris-born player who starred for Troyes as they won Ligue 2 last season.

Sankhoun Diawara would not be arriving at Rangers as a senior pro.
Just like Manny Fernandez last year, he would be coming to the club from a second-tier competition, albeit a strong one.
After a shaky start, Fernandez is now a senior Nigeria international and will carry extra responsibility this season, but that is the development path for Diawara to follow.
Rangers need two additional centre-backs, as well as cover at left-back.
Diawara can fulfil this role, while Corrie Ndaba has also been linked.
