Mo Diomande Set for Turkey Move as Çorum Close In

Mohamed Diomande is on the brink of leaving Rangers for Turkey, with Süper Lig side Çorum FK closing in on the midfielder.

According to reports that emerged on Sunday, as carried by BBC Sport, the 24-year-old is expected in Istanbul for a medical and contract talks, with the two clubs said to be finalising a deal worth around £4.5m.

Given the midfielders to have arrived at Ibrox this summer, it is not a surprise to see Mo Diomande move on.

Why Diomande could be heading for the Ibrox exit

The Ivory Coast midfielder, who wears No. 10 at Ibrox, has been a regular contributor under Derek McInnes in recent weeks, but now looks set to move on as the summer window intensifies.

Turkish reporter Ertan Suzgun first revealed Çorum’s interest, later stating that Diomande would travel for final contract talks and a medical, while journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu reported an official offer in the region of £4.8m.

No further commentary has emerged at the time of writing.

If the medical is passed and the deal completed, Diomande’s departure would hand McInnes both funds and a midfield vacancy to address.

Some would say that should be Vanja Dragojevic, who is yet to properly feature in a midfield role.
