- Bojan Miovski scores twice as Rangers beat Falkirk 6-3 in dramatic comeback.
- Danilo nets last-gasp equaliser for NEC after late miss against former club Feyenoord to set Eredivisie points record.
- John McGlynn focused on Falkirk defensive issues rather than Jayden Meghoma red card debate.
Bojan Miovski admits he was “always ready” to make an impact after firing Rangers to a dramatic 6-3 comeback win over Falkirk.
The striker came off the bench at half-time with Danny Rohl’s side trailing 2-1, but turned the game alongside Youssef Chermiti, scoring twice to help secure a crucial three points.
Reflecting on the result, Miovski acknowledged a difficult start before Rangers found their rhythm.
Bojan Miovski post-match interview:
“Of course, we are happy we collected three points,” he said to Rangers TV.
“It was a difficult game. The first 20, maybe 40 minutes, we didn’t play well.
“The pitch was how it is today; it doesn’t help us. But it was important to score before half-time. It gave us a lift.”
That goal shifted the momentum heading into the break, with Miovski introduced soon after and immediately making his presence felt.
“As a striker you always want to help the team, so I’m always ready,” he explained.
“Today I helped the team with two goals, of course I’m happy.”
Miovski revealed his instructions from the bench were simple but effective.
“The manager told me just to try to help the team and be in the position to score,” he said.
“Today it was a nice evening with two goals.”
Rangers’ second-half response once again underlined their resilience this season, something the forward believes has become a defining trait.
“I think we’ve shown that a lot of times this season,” he added.
“We know this league, so we go game by game.”
The double continues a strong run of form for Miovski, who now has three goals in his last two appearances.
“I feel good,” he said.
“That brings more confidence.”
Rangers’ attacking unit has also begun to click in recent weeks, with 14 goals scored across their last three matches, and Miovski pointed to improved cohesion in the final third.
“We start to understand each other, we create more chances,” he said.
“As a striker, when the team creates chances, it’s up to us to score.”
Danilo goes from villain to hero
On loan Rangers striker Danilo went from villain to last-minute hero for NEC last night, with his last-minute equaliser against Feyenoord confirming a club record Eredivisie points total.
It did not always look as if the Brazilian would be the hero, missing a guilt edge chance in the first minute of injury time.
Head in his hands it looked as if he had passed up a golden opportunity against his former side.
However, his resilience showed and in the seventh minute of added on time he struck a volley into the bottom corner to secure NEC’s record top flight points total.
“I am very relieved that I scored my first goal,” he said post match.
“Especially because I had missed a big chance just before that.
“If the goal hadn’t come, I would have been really bothered by it. I would certainly have lain awake at night.”
Bairns boss dismisses red card claim
Falkirk manager John McGlynn admits he has not seen Jayden Meghoma’s challenge on Calvin Miller back.
The Rangers defender was booked for a professional foul on the Bairns’ winger on the half way line, with many Falkirk fans calling for a red.
James Tavernier was further back on the field, but questions have been raised over whether he could cover a counter had Miller gotten clear of on Brentford loanee.
I haven’t seen it back,” he said.
“I’ve been more concerned about the goals that we lost than that.
“I don’t know if they’re similar [to other recent incidents] or not. It never really crossed my mind at the time.
“Today might be the best thing that’s ever happened because it’s a reset.
“We’ve not done our jobs in the second half and we need to get back on it tomorrow with a good week’s training.”
Rangers target Baggies’ forward
Rangers could be set for a summer swoop for West Brom striker Aune Heggebo, should any of the current Ibrox trio depart.
The Baggies’ forward matches many preferences of Rohl, standing over six foot tall with a strong physical presence.
He has been described as a penalty box finisher who excels at holding up the ball, running into channels, and playing short passes to bring teammates into play, effectively acting as a focal point in attack.
With Albion’s Championship place under threat, Rangers could be set to make a summer move should the side be relegated and either Miovski or Chermiti depart.
