- Danny Rohl press conference comments
- Timely update on Tuur Rommens
- And a tactical hint from a Rangers legend for Monday
Former Rangers midfielder Charlie Miller has called for Danny Rohl to make tactical changes ahead of their crunch clash with Hearts at Tynecastle on Monday.
Miller called for the German head coach to change the attacking duo of Thelo Aasgaard and Djeidi Gassama for the trip to Edinburgh.
He spoke about the upcoming match on the All About the Gers Podcast.
“Those two do not run hard enough that game,” he said on the pair’s displays vs Motherwell.
“They were outworked, outplayed, outfought.”
Miller also called for a formation change from the recently preferred 4-2-2-2 utilised by Rohl.
The duo of Nico Raskin and Tochi Chukwuani found themselves overrun against the Steelmen.
“You cannot play two players in midfield that cannot tackle or track back,” the nine-in-a-row legend explained.
“If he goes and plays like that at Tynecastle, Hearts will run through us.”
Danny Rohl on Tuur Rommens availability
Danny Rohl has confirmed the return of Tuur Rommens in what is a timely boost for all at Rangers.
The flying Belgian full-back has resumed training with his teammates, but the manager gave a “let’s see” teaser on whether or not he will feature at Tynecastle.
The January signing from Westerlo last featured for Rangers against Aberdeen on 21 March and his absence has been felt.
Jayden Meghoma has made a steady contribution this season, but he is not Tuur Rommens.

Danny Rohl singles out Youssef Chermiti
Rangers manager Danny Rohl has praised forward Youssef Chermiti as he looks forward to Monday’s meeting with Hearts at Tynecastle.
The German referred to the 21-year-old’s “big character” with the last three matches seeing the Portuguese chalk up three goals and two assists.
Rohl said: “Youssef Chermiti had a really difficult time in October and November. He is involved in so much on the pitch, but also off.
“He is a big character, and he works very hard and I am really happy to have him here.
“In the big games, he steps up but he always gives his all and I hope he scores more goals from now until the end of the season.”
The Portuguese striker scored a hat-trick as he helped Rangers fight back from a goal behind as the Gers cruised back to win 4-2.
And the forward may well have to repeat that in three days time in order to ensure Rangers are still in contention with three games to go.

Rohl’s timely reminder for the players
In the press conference previewing the Hearts clash, Rohl was quick to look at the positives for the players.
“This is the positive way, if you want to take something from this out, the team is able to come back.
“This is also a big quality that we improved and developed in the last couple of weeks and months.”
Rohl went on to mention that, “You always have the feeling, one signal and we can come back in the game.”
A rarity of the German’s tenure as manager so far is league defeats, with the Motherwell loss just the second suffered under Rohl.
A response is required against Hearts on Monday.
Even if they fall behind early on in Edinburgh, the players will need to remember the belief their manager has that they can turn the game on its head.

The managers thoughts on the Old Firm ticket dispute
Speaking ahead of a crucial run-in, Rohl struck a measured tone when asked about the prospect of supporter allocations for the upcoming derby at Celtic Park.
“Of course, we hope to have all supporters with us,” he explained.
“In general, such a game should always have great supporters on both sides.
“That makes the football really exciting. That’s the reason why we love the sport.
“But it’s not my job to decide this. I can just cross my fingers and hope everything goes well in our direction as well.”
His comments land at a moment when away allocations for Old Firm fixtures are under severe strain, with the dispute between Celtic and Rangers over tickets for the May 10 meeting at Parkhead threatening to reshape the fixture entirely.
