- Neil McCann wants Rangers winger Findlay Curtis back after impressive Killie loan spell.
- Curtis scored five goals and one assist in 14 games helping Kilmarnock avoid relegation.
- Rangers face attacking reshuffle with wide options uncertain ahead of summer rebuild decisions.
Kilmarnock manager Neil McCann has admitted he would “love to see” Findlay Curtis back at Rugby Park after the winger impressed during his loan spell, as the club prepare for a big summer following a strong end to the season.
Curtis joined Killie in January on loan from Rangers and made an immediate impact, scoring five goals and adding one assist in 14 appearances as the Ayrshire side pulled clear of relegation danger and secured Premiership safety in convincing fashion.
McCann was speaking after his side wrapped up their campaign with a dominant performance, expressing pride in both the turnaround and the collective mentality shown since his arrival.
“We’ve built a nice platform there,” he said.
“It’s kind of sad as well, tinged with sadness, because a lot of boys will be leaving us who played their part in what we’ve turned around our season.”
That sense of transition is already shaping early summer thinking, with McCann openly acknowledging the need for fresh additions and attacking reinforcement.
“We go again next year,” he added.
Neil McCann wants another loan for Findlay Curtis
Curtis’ contribution has left a clear impression on the Kilmarnock head coach, who referenced both his development and his wider potential.
“I’d love to see him back here as well,” Former Gers player and coach McCann said.
“The wee man has just been a joy to work with, as he was when we spent time at Rangers.”
Rangers wide positions up for grabs ahead of Findlay Curtis return
The teenager’s form during the loan spell has strengthened his case for a return to Ibrox this summer, where a number of attacking decisions are expected to be made amid wider squad reshaping.
Wide areas at Ibrox are already under review, with loan deals for players such as Mikey Moore and Andreas Skov Olsen coming to an end, while uncertainty also surrounds several existing options.
Djeidi Gassama has attracted interest following a positive campaign, while Monaco-linked speculation after a January bid may resurface.
Meanwhile, Oliver Antman remains another name under consideration for a departure as Rangers weigh up their wide attacking depth.
Findlay Curtis set for World Cup spot
Curtis’ own trajectory, however, has been one of the more encouraging developments in the domestic loan market this season.
His return of five goals and one assist in just 14 matches underpinned Kilmarnock’s survival push and highlighted his ability to impact games at Premiership level, particularly in transitional attacking roles.
McCann believes that exposure has accelerated his development significantly.
“He’s done enough to make that squad on Tuesday,” he said, hinting at international recognition with Scotland.
“Maybe I’ll get to watch him in the World Cup.”
The Killie boss also praised the wider environment at Rugby Park, pointing to a group that has embraced tactical demands and a more expansive attacking approach.
“You can see what we’re trying to do and how we want our team to play,” he said.
“We give them the licence to play without fear.”
That philosophy has underpinned a late-season surge which included a statistical landmark.
“13 goals in four games… first time that’s happened since 1964? That’s brilliant,” McCann added.
“That gives me a lot of pride.”

For Curtis, the decision now sits with Rangers and their summer planning structure, but his loan spell has ensured he returns to Ibrox with momentum, experience and a growing reputation as a player capable of influencing Premiership fixtures.
Danny Rohl is a fan of the player, but did not regularly feature him prior to his loan.
Whether that earns him a place in the first-team squad or another temporary move may depend on how Rangers reshape their attacking options in the coming weeks.
